I’ll be the first to admit that I’m quick to become angered at times, especially when I see or am part of something that is totally ridiculous! This morning, while out shopping with my 70 year old mother and almost 13 year old daughter I had something happen that went beyond ridiculous! While I don’t normally talk about the area that I’m from, I feel the need to in the hopes that the “stranger” involved in this situation realizes what an A$$HAT he is!

I live in the NW Ohio area, just outside of the towns of Toledo and Holland. This morning I met my mom at the Spring Meadows shopping area because she was taking my daughter shopping for her upcoming birthday. After a very major car accident over 20 years ago I am a very cautious driver, my husband often calls me a “grandma driver”…LOL! I’m especially cautious when driving through parking lots of busy shopping areas and I ALWAYS stop anywhere in parking lots where stop signs have been put, with NO exceptions!

As I was approaching the stop sign in front of the Kroger store I seen a woman coming out of the store. While I could have easily stopped at the sign and then gone through before she even entered the cross way, I took the extra time and waited for her to cross. After she walked through I looked and then looked again and there was no one getting ready to walk across the cross way, so I started to move on. After I got past the stop sign a “man” and woman came out from behind a parked car and started freaking out, basically trying to tell me that I hadn’t stopped. Now I know I stopped and so did my mom and daughter, so I yelled through the window “I did stop, back there where the stop sign was, not up here where you are” and started to drive away. As I drove away, I noticed that this “man”, who was easily in his mid 50’s and very nicely dressed, thought it would be perfectly acceptable to flip the bird to a car full of women.

I’ll admit that I’ve flipped the bird to my fair share of people in my life time, sometimes with reason, and sometimes without. But I’ve NEVER flipped the bird in a situation that would deem it totally inappropriate or when I know that I’m the one at fault. But there is just something that makes my blood BOIL about a well dressed grown man who feels it’s perfectly acceptable to try and intimidate a car full of women when HE was the one that was in the wrong. If I had done something wrong, I’d have gladly admitted it, but I am 100% positive that if there had been a police officer who watched the whole situation, even he’d have agreed that I did everything 100% legally.

So, do you want to know what I did when he did that? I stopped the car, put it in park, took off my seat belt and got out of the car. I then looked at this joke of a “man” and proceeded to tell him what an impressive “man” he was for doing what he did to a car load of women, and that I’m sure his wife was very proud to say he was hers. Should I have kept my mouth shut and just drove on? Probably, but I’m sorry, pathetic excuses for human beings who do stuff like that give me every right to tell them exactly how pathetic they are!

I’m SOOOOOOO glad my husband is a decent and respectful MAN who would never be so disrespectful to treat women or any other person like that! I should know, he’s put up with me for over 16 years now…LOL!

I’m sitting here watching the noon news when they come on with a breaking news alert. One of the reporters was out about town talking to people and getting their reactions to the overnight hike in gas prices. Now, it’s been a ROUGH night/morning here, so I didn’t pay much attention to the news this morning. So I was totally not prepared to see that the sign at the gas station showed the price of regular gas went up to $3.95 over night. WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?

So, to our oh so lovely President, and ALL members of congress and/or government that “run” this country, I’d simply like to say kiss my butt! How in the heck do you even remotely expect common people to survive this kind of price gouging? You have NO IDEA what it is like to have to scramble around scraping up money to put food on the table or pay your bills. You sit there “running” this country, sucking up every little penny you can off the backs of the people who work their butts off day in and day out hoping and praying they can get by without losing everything they own!

You continue to dump billions upon billions of dollars into a war that cannot be won and needs to end now before you completely bankrupt this country! You pad your pockets every chance you can, yet you continue to cut funding to groups and programs that help people who are working their butts off trying to make it, but just can’t. And now you’re allowing our gasoline prices to reach prices that are ridiculous!

I tell you what, why don’t YOU try to make ends meet paying these prices on the average family’s income? What? What’s that you say? You don’t think you could?? WELL WELCOME TO OUR REALITY! For God’s sake, get off your butts and do something to let the people that put you into your fancy offices know that you really do care about someone other than yourself for once! Give US a break for a change instead of yourself or your “cronies”!

The everyday common people in this country are working their butts off day in and day out and we get NOTHING from you but a slap across the face! You do nothing to protect us from the oil companies taking advantage of us at the gas pumps. You do nothing to assure that we will be able to continue to stay in our homes and feed our families. You made it so that decent, hard working people aren’t eligible for stimulus checks, even members of our military that are serving their country over in Iraq in that God forsaken war that you continue to support and funnel money into!

Frankly, I’m disgusted at the way you are running this country. You don’t do anything decent to cut corners, instead you cut the things that help the people who need it the most. Cut something that “might” affect yourself for once, like your salary, or your benefits, and STOP living off the backs of people that no longer want to support your lazy butts!

First, I’m sorry for the “going away” post with no explanation last night. Hubby and I have been having some marital problems and I had my stuff packed and was leaving last night, but other family members told me to chill out, and sleep on it before I make such a drastic decision. So I obviously ended up not leaving last night, but was up til 3 playing games on my computer to try and “quiet” my brain that was going 100 MPH…LOL!

Then at 8 this morning the phone rings. It’s our landlord, his daughter, who was the person that last lived in this house, decided that she wants to plant some flowers to make things look “pretty” and is coming down this morning. WTF?!?!?! Why in the HELL does someone who hasn’t done a thing with this yard or even the house for YEARS want to plant some flowers to make things look pretty NOW? Why not go around the property and pick up and the friggin pickle buckets, tarps and trash that you and your children threw all over the place? Why not do something to fix the “deck” so that it can actually be used?

I tried to explain to them that A). we have a frost/freeze warning coming in a couple of days and if the flowers aren’t hardy enough, they’ll die and B). It’s my Mothers Day tradition to get my flowers to plant in the flower beds, but they didn’t care, they want it done now and not in a few weeks. Anyone that lives in this area that has just a little common sense knows that you don’t plant flowers before Mothers Day, if you do, you run the chance of them dying in a heavy frost because we’re not in the “clear” before then!

Yeah, I know, I should feel lucky that they want to do something like this, but I’d much rather have them do something about the shit piles of trash and garbage that they left since that’s going to take much more work to do than cleaning out the flower beds and planting flowers!

First off, I’m extremely ornery today, so that doesn’t help matters any. But I am SOOOOOOOOOOO sick of something that I’ve only dealt with in the few years that I’ve had satellite TV! Right now hubby and I are kind of watching a movie on TV, but it’s on a regular channel, so there are commercials. We set the volume so that we can hear it fine for the movie, but when the commercials come on it is so ungodly loud it scares the crap out of us!

Now I remember ALL the years that we had cable TV, we never had this problem, nor was it a problem when we used rabbit ear antennas. We’ve only had this problem since having Satellite TV, PERIOD! When I first noticed this problem, shortly after we first started getting the service, I emailed DirecTV. They answered me back by saying they had no control over the problem, that the problem was with the individual channels. So I think started emailing individual channels, explaining my problem to them and they answered back by telling me it wasn’t a problem that they had any control over.

Now before you ask, no we did not have a different TV from before we started noticing this, it was the same TV that we’ve had for a few years now, so it doesn’t have anything to do with our TV, and it’s not TV specific, it happens on all of them. The worst part of it would be if we happen to fall asleep with the TV volume on, we would get abruptly awoken in the middle of the night by very loud commercials.

I know that I’m not the only person that has experienced this, I’ve read numerous complaints from other people all over the web about this. So my question is, if so many people are having this problem, why can’t/won’t something be done about it? We’re the consumers, we pay for these services, why can’t the people that provide them make us feel as if our wishes matter to them?

OK, so lets talk about weather, shall we. Last week, as you know, we received two significant snow storms where I live. In one we ended up with basically 9 inches of snow, and in the second one we received an additional 4-5 inches of snow, giving us a grand total of over a foot of snow in a matter of a couple of days. I don’t mind snow, I’d much rather have it than ice, and last weeks snow was beautiful, as you seen from the photos I shared!

Saturday through Monday we had much warmer than normal temperatures and by Monday afternoon all of our snow was completely gone. Monday afternoon it started raining and between the melted snow and the rains, we were at risk for some fairly significant flooding! Late Monday evening our decent temperatures plummeted and we ended up with cold temps and ice by Tuesday, but it wasn’t bad enough to delay/close schools OR keep voters away from the polls, which is a VERY good thing!

But by 3:00 yesterday afternoon it was raining pretty good again, but it was a rain/sleet mixture that was making the roads slick and slushy. When my husband got out of work at 4:00 he told me that the drive home would be very slow going, which was a total understatement. A drive that normally takes about 45 minutes ended up taking him more than two hours. By this time it was no longer raining, what was coming from the sky was straight ice!

With all of the events that were being cancelled for last night, I went to bed feeling sure that schools would at least be delayed today, if not closed. I woke up this morning around 6:00 AM to the phone ringing, it was an automated message from my daughters school letting us know that her school was closed for today. Closed at 6:00, NOT delayed, just closed! The roads were horrible and many counties in the area were under snow advisories, with two of the advisories actually being level 3, meaning you were not allowed on the roads at all!

By 8:00 AM not a single school in the area was open today. Now, I actually do not mind snow days, the kids and I generally have a pretty good time when they are off school and try to find fun ways to occupy our time. But this morning, these kids already have me at my wits end! They’re arguing and fighting with each other and when they’re not doing that, they’re getting the dogs all worked up to the point that the dogs are running around and jumping and making stuff fall off the tables and shelves. I swear that when I see another saying Branson homes for sale, I’m going to click on it and find myself somehwere FAR FAR away from here to live if these kids don’t STOP SOON!

Not only is it a joke, but it’s ran by COMPLETE incompetents who are incapable of telling the truth, let alone delivering a package on it’s scheduled delivery date! I’ve sat here all day today waiting on a package that was to be delivered today. We had beautiful, sunny weather all day, until about 6:00 PM. At that point it started hazing over and you could tell we were going to get fog. At 7:00 PM I finally decided to call FedEx to see if they had a more updated status of the packages I have been waiting all day for. The polite lady on the other end of the line stated that there was a message “attached” to my package stating something about bad weather conditions all day and that the delivery was changed to tomorrow. When I told her that our bad weather conditions came in less than an hour ago, she got very snippy with me and said “That’s not what my system says”. OK, your system in another state compared to my eyes looking out the window…..HMMMMMMMM…..I’d tend to think that I’m a little more accurate on the weather conditions here than she was, wouldn’t you?

I’m ticked! First because I sat here ALL DAY WAITING on a package that was SCHEDULED for delivery today SPECIFICALLY! Second because I won’t be home tomorrow morning, which is why this was set to be delivered today!

Well hey, what do you know, they FINALLY updated their website on the tracking of my packages. BUT, get this, one package has an exception for delivery set for tomorrow, but the other one DOESN’T! OMG, complete and TOTAL BUFFOON IDIOTS RUN THIS COMPANY!

At approximately 9:15 PM tonight I finally was told by a supervisor by the name of Celia that my packages would definitely not be delivered tonight. HOW DIFFICULT WAS THAT? She also told me that she would “put a trace” on my packages and that someone would call me tomorrow. I’m beyond ticked and from this point forward I refuse to purchase anything EVER from a company that only ships via FedEx! This really sucks because we had decided that we were going to purchase another bed from the company that I won this one from. I’ll call them tomorrow and find out of they have the option of shipping with someone other than FedEx, if they do, then we’ll still buy from them, if not, I’ll probably just buy a bed locally BTW, their website STILL shows that one of my packages is on the truck for delivery today **rolls eyes**

It’s one of those “if only I’d have known” mornings. This past week has been kind of rough because my husband has worked a TON of hours even though he had Monday and Tuesday off for the holiday. His job is about an hour from home and he had two days this week that he pulled double (16 hour) shifts, came home to eat, shower and sleep a few hours, then turn around and go back to work. When my hubby got out of work yesterday he was told to get some rest and enjoy two days off because things were going to be crazy come January 2nd. We were both looking forward to him being home for a couple of days and he was looking forward to getting some much needed rest. But we both got our hopes worked up only to have him get called in this morning and be told that they have to correct a HUGE mistake that another crew made and they’ll be working around the clock until it is fixed/finished. I’m just bummed because here it is, New Years Eve, and it looks like it will be just the kids and I. I am thankful that he has this job and that the hours are FINALLY picking up after several months of hours so sporadic that we were struggling just to put food on the table. I JUST MISS MY MAN! And HOW weird is this? I no more than typed that I missed him and he called me to let me know he made it to work…LOL!

Now, onto something that is VERY upsetting! They came across the 11:00 news last night with a breaking story. There had been an accident on one of the local expressways involving a drunk driver and a family. As of that time they were reporting 3 fatalities and very few details. This morning the full details are available and it’s sickening! A family of 8 from Maryland was on their way home from spending the holidays with family in Michigan. A 24 year old male was drunk and going the wrong way down the expressway and hit the family’s van shearing off the passenger side of the vehicle. In the horrific aftermath it was discovered that a 36 year old mother, two 10 year olds, a 7 year old and a 6 month old were immediately killed. The 36 year old father and two 8 year old children are currently hospitalized in critical condition. A family has been destroyed because an IDIOT who was drunk got behind the wheel. The most sickening thing is that the idiot drunk driver suffered only minor injuries. How many more innocent people are going to have to lose their lives before the idiots that choose to drink and drive learn how STUPID their decision to do this is? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE! No, I don’t know anyone involved in this accident, but I can’t help but mourn the innocent lives that were lost!

Just to forewarn you, in case the title didn’t, this is going to be a rant.  I promise you, however, that I will watch my language!

A few months ago my husbands cell phone, that we have on a family plan through our phone company, was suddenly snapped in half by an irate mother because her son picked it up and called 911 and told them “Help me, there is a crazed lunatic in my house”.  I was pissed so I grabbed it out of his hand and rather than hang the phone up, I snapped it in half.  Hind sight is 20/20, dumb butt me didn’t put the insurance on the phone, and when I called the phone company I was told a replacement phone would cost almost $300.

Now, enter the hubby.  He called the phone company this past Tuesday trying to find out if he could get a replacement phone and have it added to the bill.  Amazlingly he got a customer service rep who not only was glad to help him, but actually figured out a way to get the hubby’s broken phone AND the kids’ phone replaced for a total of $30.  This my friends, is a VERY good thing!  The lady told him that they would be shipped ASAP and all we would have to do is call them to transfer the service over to the new phones when they arrived.

They arrived today.  But past experience with me and the customer service reps from our phone company has shown that it is not possible for me to call them for ANYTHING.  The last time I was on the phone with them was the day before our service was to be transferred here, and it almost resulted in us having service through them suspended indefinitely.  I don’t like this phone company, they are a bunch of butt tards!  So, I waited until the hubby came home from work to let him call them to activate the new phones, just to be on the safe side ;)  At this point, I am still in a good mood.

The first time he called them the customer service rep couldn’t even find the order for the new phones, she put him on hold once for over 10 minutes, came back to say she was still looking and when she went to put him on hold again, she disconnected the call.  So he called back and got someone else.  This person was pleasant, according to him, but TOTALLY clueless!  It took her over an hour to get things set to activate the two phones.  Now comes what has me so pissed off!  After getting all of the numbers off the old AND new phones she then asks him for the number off of my cell phone.  I found it curious as to why she would need this because nothing with my cell phone was changing.  My hubby gave her the numbers, they talked for a few more minutes, I hear him say something about 24 hours, say “yes” a few times, then say “Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you tomorrow”.  He then hangs up the phone, looks at me and says, “They have to reset our entire package, all phones are off for the next 24 HOURS”.  I’m like WTF?  EXCUSE ME?!?!?!  He said they had to do that since the three phones share a family plan.  OK, I can understand this somewhat, but my thought is that shouldn’t she have forewarned us of this BEFORE she did it?  No, I am not one of those people that is constantly on my cell phone, I use maybe 100 minutes a month, if that.  But tomorrow is a week day, the kids will be in school, and I have several things I HAVE to do in town.  What happens if the kids’ school has to get ahold of me while I’m in town?  I won’t have a cell phone, and town is a 20+ minute drive from home.

Yes, I know, this is all probably VERY trivial, but it still makes me mad!  I’d have been fine if this would have happened on a weekend, it wouldn’t have have hardly any affect on me.  But to have it happen on a week day really messes things up!  And no, I’m not going to call them and complain, I’d probably end up costing us our cell phones, the house phone AND the DSL for an indefinite period of time.  And if that were to happen, I can guarantee you, I’d go postal….LOL!

I tell you, I’m getting pretty annoyed with many websites I’ve visited lately. This past week I’ve visited several websites that I normally don’t go to in order to find where I could get the items I was looking for on Black Friday for the best price. But for some reason I kept getting popup after popup on many of them. Thankfully the latest computer programs have given us some of the best popup blocker programs available, but every once in a while one will still manage to sneak under the radar and popup anyway. I don’t get it though, I know that I can’t be the only person who gets this annoyed by popups! You’d think the people who build these websites would want people to enjoy their sites rather than become annoyed when they visit them. I know that for myself, when I site has popups that fly under the radar and manage to get past the program that I use, I hit my browsers back button and make sure I don’t ever visit the site again!

This morning has not been a good morning.  The dogs are driving me NUTS, my son woke up at 5 grumpier than heck and on top of that, when I went to put the load of clothes that I put in the washer last night into the dryer this morning, I discovered that the spin cycle in the washer went out and there is NO WAY the clothes in the washer would be dry in time for my son to go to school.  And since his PUBLIC school is run by asinine idiots who decided that the kids need to wear uniforms, and ALL of his uniforms are in the washer right now, he has no clothes for school.  I also discovered last night that the vent hose has come off the back of the dryer.  If ever there was a week that I was ready for my husband to come home, this week is definitely it! I feel so stressed out right now, and when I get stressed, I get VERY grumpy!  And when I’m grumpy, well, I’m not a person you want to be around at all!

I wanted to get laundry caught up today, but that obviously isn’t going to happen!  I think I just need to go back to bed and sleep the day away!  6:00 PM can’t get here soon enough!
