If there is one thing you probably know about my life by now, it’s the fact that it’s full of never ending drama. Whether it’s family related, school related or pet related, there is always something going on. That’s why it shouldn’t surprise me that my dogs have once again destroyed something, but this time it isn’t going to be cheap to replace.

I was upstairs attempting to do some cleaning in my pig sty of an office when I went downstairs to get a cup of coffee. When I got to the bottom of the steps I could see all three dogs behind the recliner in the living room. As I got closer I was able to see that they had totally destroyed two of the speakers to the home theater surround sound. Remind me again why I have dogs please?

It’s been a rough week, and we’ve been dealing with a situation that has totally stressed both hubby and I out to our limits.  But the harsh reality is that we’re going to have to move.  I won’t go into the details because there are simply too many to list here and I don’t feel like divulging that much info about my life.

With the thought of moving comes the reality that we are probably not going to be able to take the dogs with us.  We’d like to be able to keep them, but many landlords do not allow pets, let alone 3 dogs.  So now I have to decide what to do with them, or if we’re allowed to keep less than all of them which one(s) we find new homes for.  Each of us has our own attachment to a different dog.

We’ve already got info about one house that comes with a job, they won’t allow any pets at all.  It’s difficult to even think about having to let my dogs go.  I never thought that I’d develop such an attachment to dogs like I have.  Anyway, I’ll keep ya posted as to what’s going on.

I know that I’ve told a few of you about Riley, and the fact that the neighbors told us that his problem was a case of ear mites.  We took him to the vet this morning and it turns out that it’s not ear mites, but a very bad bacterial ear infection.  The doctor gave him a shot of a combination of two meds that would help the swelling in his ear, then she gave us 2 pills and some drops to use on him here at home.  The poor guy is still obviously hurting, but the vet said it would take a day or two for the medications to kick in.  I’ll keep you posted as to how he’s doing, but I thought I’d let you know the status as of this evening.

With the dog food scare that came through earlier this year, I’m still very skeptical about feeding our dogs dog food and treats. The food that we feed them was never included in the dog food recall, but some of the treats we gave them were. I know there were a few people in my area that actually lost their pets because of the tainted foods, which is heart breaking!

I’ve done everything possible to make sure that our dogs are safe, including switching to Organic dog food as a possibility if I feel their current food is no longer an option. Many of today’s organic dog foods are high in nutrition and a great option for keeping dogs healthy!
