Here we are, it’s already Sunday afternoon, and I can’t help but wonder WHERE this weekend went? My hubby ended up having Friday off work and the weather here in NW Ohio was picture perfect, so we took advantage of that and started working on the yard. Just so that you know what we’re “up against” as far as this yard goes, I decided I’d take some before pictures so you could see what things around here look like right now. But since I took so many pictures (30) I decided that it would be easier on everyone if I put them into a video…LOL!
So, for your viewing pleasure, may I present a view of the yardwork from H**L!
You know, I love my husband with all my heart! We’ve been together for more than 17 years and married for over 16 years. But sometimes he comes up with the most off the wall ideas! It’s not that they aren’t good ideas; it’s just that they come out of the middle of nowhere!
For instance, here’s his latest idea. We’ve been talking about getting things together to make an official offer to buy the house we are currently renting. The house is AWESOME and we love living here! The lot that it is on is more than 2 acres and it is surrounded by protected woodland that will never be developed. We’ve talked about the things we’d like to do if we do get to buy it.
The house itself is an “L” shaped ranch and it’s about 1500 square foot. The “L” part of the ranch was added on and consists of a second bathroom and the family room. What we’d like to do if we buy it is expand this part of the house all the way over and make it a rectangular house and make the family room double it’s current size. My husband said that if we did that, he’d want to make it so that the front living room would then be a game room and in the middle of it would be a pool table.
He even went online looking for furniture and accessories to go in his new game room and told me he had found the perfect chairs at www.borderbilliards.com, then pulled up the website to show me. I have to admit that the Mahogany chairs he showed me were beautiful! He also showed me the light that he’d choose to hang over the pool table.
I guess the only thing that makes him talking about this so off the wall to me is that neither one of us have ever been big billiards players since we’ve been together. I used to play a lot of pool in my early 20’s, but don’t think I’ve played a single game since we’ve been together, except online. But I honestly think it would be something that we all would be able to enjoy as a family! I guess we’ll just have to wait and see whether or not we can make things work and buy the house first though!

My son can light up a room just by walking into it. But I swear he is one of the most difficult people I have ever known in my life. His dislikes in life far out weigh his likes! And in typical teen fashion, he didn’t like the bedding set that I bought for him when we moved into the new house. So I sat down at my computer with him next to me to try and get some ideas as to what he might like for a bedding set. He’s very much into items with an Asian theme, and about fell out of his chair to point out the Asian Bedding set that I clicked past because I didn’t think he would like it. It just goes to show how much I don’t understand his likes and dislikes! Because even though I think it’s gorgeous, would you have thought than an almost 15 year old boy would like this bedding?
Like I said, I think it’s absolutely gorgeous, but I didn’t think it would be something that he would like. But I’m glad that we have finally found something that he likes, now I just have to figure out how I’m going to swing it!
No, I’m not trying to rush past Christmas and New Years this year! But we got some exciting news last night from our landlord. As you’ve probably read, the house that we are living in sat empty for several months before we moved into it. We had quite a bit of cleaning and painting to do before we could even thing about moving in, but there is also much more that needs to be done in the house as far as updating and remodeling. The landlord told us last night that after the holidays are over we’re going to get started getting things done in the house and wanted our input on what needs to be done. When we told him that the bathroom back here by the family room was in need of some updating, he agreed that it would be a simple place to start and gave me several catalogs with bathroom vanities and fixtures to look through to get some ideas as to what I’d like for the bathroom. I LOVE the fact that he’s letting us give our ideas and input!!
