And no, this time they aren’t of my toe….LOL! It’s been a VERY long week for me, and it got off to a very rough start! Monday morning I got up at 3:00 AM for work. When I got to work I said good morning to my manager, took my coat off and hung it up, put my purse and stuff in my locker and proceeded to get ready to clock in. As I was standing at the front of the store watching for the other opener to show up so that I could get the door for her, my boss walked up to me and asked if I had traded hours with “so and so”. I looked at him and said “No, I traded hours with this person, she worked my shift yesterday and I worked hers last Friday, she did show up for work yesterday, right?”. He assured me she did but said that wasn’t what he wasn’t what he was talking about, he wanted to know how I traded hours with in order to be at work that morning. I said I didn’t trade with anyone, that I was supposed to be there to which he showed me the schedule showing me that I wasn’t supposed to be working Monday…LOL!
To make a long story short, the girl he wanted to know if I had traded hours with came in and I ended up taking her hours so that she could go home and study for one of her college courses. I didn’t mind working, honestly! And I actually ended up getting sent home and hour early because of how slow it was at work. But shortly after I got home, things went REALLY bad!
When I got home I needed to let the dogs out since my husband wasn’t home. Two of our dogs are on cable leads because if they aren’t put on them, they have a tendency to run off. I got one put on hers and went to get the second on put on when the first one came back up on the porch. In order to keep them from getting tangled up in each others leads, I decided to walk the second dof off the porch and away from the first one. What I didn’t realize is that when I stepped off the porch, I put my right foot into a loop in the second dogs lead.
Once I got her away from the first dog I let her go and she RAN! When she did that, the loop in her lead that was around my foot pulled tight and knocked me off my feet and onto the ground. The pain was EXCRUCIATING and instantly made me sick enough to throw up, it also made me scream at the top of my lungs! When I screamed, the one neighbor that I have jumped in his truck and came racing over here to see what was going on. I explained to him what had happened and he wanted to know if he could help me in any way. I thanked him but told him I was fine, just in pain, and he left. Once I knew the dogs had “dont their duty”, I got them back in the house so that I could asses the damage. I had no doubt it was going to be bad, but I had no idea it was going to be as bad as it actually was.
What I have is basically the same thing as a rope burn. It almost completely circles my lower leg, just above my ankle, but in a few places it is pretty deep. It sometimes bleeds, and anytime that I’m at work or doing something that will cause my pant leg to rub against it, I have it covered with gauze pads doused in antibiotic ointment that contains a topical pain reliever. For the most part, Tylenol takes care of the pain, but tonight it is bad enough that I actually had to take one of the pain pills I got when I had my ingrown toenail removed. It’s bad, it’s really bad, or at least it seems so to me. But like I said, it’s nothing more than a rope burn and since I’m on antibiotics from my toenail and I cleaned it really well and am using antibiotic cream on it, there really is nothing more a doctor can do about it. That being said, it if gets much worse, I will still go have it checked!
Tonight I had my hubby take a couple of pictures of it so that I could share them with you. Especially my pals like Kat, who like gross pictures…LOL! As with the pictures from my toe, since I know that some people are like me and have weak stomach’s, the pictures are “after the fold”.
PLEASE ignore my dirty table, it wasn’t until after he took the pictures that I noticed the coffee cup stain on it! And yes, my legs are in DIRE need of a shave, but that’s not going to happen right now…LOL!!

OMG Holly Doll. Oh sweetie, I do hope you get well soon. That looks so painful even for me.
Love ya!!

*Cringe…remembers getting wrapped up in Bubba’s lead over the summer. I now have a huge scar across my left ankle that gets slathered with Mederma everyday because of it. Neosporin and Aleve became my best friend!
