My husband fell asleep in the recliner with the TV on VH1 Classic and it’s been heavy metal ALL day! First it was a four segment series about how heavy metal started, and now we’re working on a countdown of the top heavy metal songs of ALL time, which is REALLY cool because they’re playing some of the BEST songs of all time! The majority of the songs are from my generation, the 1980’s, which, in my opinion, was when the best of THE BEST music came out!

It’s so cool to see the stories behind some of my favorite bands like Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, Def Leppard, Black Sabbath and Metallica and it was really cool to see the story behind how heavy metal started! It brought back the days when my friends and I would get together at someone’s apartment to jam and play cards. We’d always end up playing Euchre until the wee hours of the mornings and many nights we would end up playing a drinking game called quarter bounce.

Of course the times have changed and the music has too and from what I understand the game of quarter bounce has been replaced with one called beer pong, which actually looks cooler! But I’ve turned my beer and shots in for a good cup of coffee these days, so I don’t foresee ever getting a chance to play it. And as a parent, I’d hope that if my own children ever play it, when they get old enough, they’re wise enough to not over do it as well as not driving if they do!
