What I liked most about last nights Oscar Awards

Although I didn’t watch the entire broadcast of last nights Oscar Awards, I did pop in to see what was going on a few times over the evening. I wasn’t a happy camper when I realized that I wouldn’t be able to watch my favorite show because of the awards, but I did manage to find an old show that I hadn’t seen for a while when I was channel surfing, so it all ended up working out.

Here are some of the news worthy things that I managed to catch last night:

  1. First, I think it’s AWESOME that No Country for Old Men won best picture!
  2. Heidi Klum looked like a GODDESS in her gown, OMG what a gorgeous dress!
  3. Miley Ray Cyrus looked like a princess and looked like she was having a good time!
  4. I was THRILLED that none of the ladies wore gowns this year that pushed up their “girls” the same way that most bridal lingerie does!
  5. Harrison Ford is WAAAAAAAAAAY too old to be with waif thin Calista Flockhart and she needs to put some MAJOR meat on her bones!
  6. John Stewart was an AWESOME host! I found several of his quotes from the show online and here are a few of my favorites:
“The fight is over. So tonight, welcome to the makeup sex.”
“Oscar is 80 this year, which makes him now automatically the front-runner for the Republican (presidential) nomination.”
“Normally when you see a black man or a woman president, an asteroid is about to hit the Statue of Liberty.”

So, over all I think it was a decent show, or at least what I caught of it. The online stories are saying that it was just what Hollywood needed to bring it’s morale back up after the very long writers strike. I’m not one for fame and fortune, but it was nice to see all the actors and actresses in their fancy clothes enjoying themselves. It’s kind of one of those things that you’ve gotten used to seeing over the years!
