Not lovin the dogs that much this morning!
Feb 25th, 2008 by justsimplyholly
As you know, we have three dogs. None of them are little dogs, the smallest one weighs between 65 and 70 pounds. But with three dogs and three beds, each one of us gets a dog every night. We’ve worked out a great system where we rotate who gets which dog that has solved arguments about who gets which dog.
Last night was our night to have Riley. Riley is the largest of the three dogs weight wise, but not size wise. But he’s also the easiest when it comes to bed time, he literally puts his head down and is out cold! Not last night though! For some reason this guy just could not get comfortable last night and spent the night tossing and turning, all the while pushing me closer and closer to the edge of the bed and taking my covers. It all ended around 3:30 this morning when he decided I’d make a nice pillow. Normally I can deal with this, but for some reason he had managed to get the hiccups. I finally gave up and grabbed my blanket and came out to the recliner. I managed to sleep on and off for about 40 minutes then totally gave up and got up and made coffee.
Something tells me today will definitely be a nap day! But I also have a couple of new books that I want to read, so maybe I’ll just curl up and read until I fall asleep…LOL! I also know that I need to run into town today and pick up a few supplies because we have a fairly major winter storm coming in over night. UGH, maybe I should just go to bed…LOL!

I know exactly what you’re talking about! Between Ken and Taco Belle (who weighs in at 15 lbs — she’s a VERY fat Chihuahua), I manage to lose my covers around 2:00 am nightly.
Of course, since I’m usually having the mother of all hot flashes about that time, it takes awhile for the cold to sink in and actually wake me up. Then it’s fight tooth and nail to get any back.
No recliner at our house, so I have to oust another dog from the couch if I can’t wrest any covers from the two bed hogs.

I have been having a problem out of Cricket J. Crackhead here lately, when ever we have to leave her, she’s been destroying toilet paper and dragging out the dog food. She’s never ever done anything like this, but here lately she’s been in so much trouble.
