A weekend of thoughts and reflections

It’s been a CRAZY couple of days here in my home, some good moments, but mostly ones that you just want to put in the back of your mind and forget about! Being a parent of teens is the most difficult job I’ve ever had! As much as I love my children, there are days where I’d seriously consider dropping them by the side of the road like an unwanted puppy. And before you ask, NO, I’ve never done that!
It used to be that my eldest child was my biggest challenge, but lately the kids have been a 50/50 challenge, with both of them pushing my buttons as much as the other one does. I’ve caught myself wondering who these monsters are and wondering what happened to my little cuties that called me mommy! The cold, harsh reality is that those days are long gone and now I have “tweens”, kids that are too old to be children, and too young to be adults.
Then, when you add the three dogs in, OMG, what a combination that is? And trying to get these “kids” of mine to realize that the dogs are not trash cans and cannot eat what is left out on a table or dropped on the floor. Yet the hubby or I are the ones that are left cleaning up after a dog that vomits it’s body weight in the middle of the night or has the daihrreah because the kids thought it was cool that the dog liked potato chips or what ever the snack of the moment was.
We found out about an hour ago that my bosses father passed away this morning. It’s heart breaking for me to think that “Ornery” is gone! He was one of the sweetest men and is going to be dearly missed! My hubby and daughter are over at my bosses house right now, I wanted to go, but needed to shower and stuff and the hubby just wanted to go NOW, so I guess I’ll go another time.
I did take some time for me today though. I have taken a TON of pictures of the birds out at the feeders since we moved in here and finally got around to checking them out and thought that they’d make a neat video. So I took a bunch of them, resized them and set them to music that I thought would be fitting for a bunch of photos of birds, uploaded it to YouTube and am embedding it here for your viewing pleasure…LOL!
