A walk down memory road

My sister sent me an email last night with some recent pictures of my 7 year old niece attached. My nieces such a fun kid, always on the go and is definitely a “typical” girl because she LOVES playing dressup. After I looked through the pictures I called my sister, after we talked for a while we got on the subject of when we used to play dressup down at our grandmothers house when we were about the same age as my niece. Our grandmother was a very social woman in her young adult years and had many different fancy dresses for when she would go out. She and my grandfather even went to see The Lawrence Welk show one time and had their picture taken with Mr. Welk himself. Grandma loved her fancy dresses, and she loved telling us the stories about the places she would wear them!
As grandma she got older, the dresses went out of style, so she gave them to my sister and I so that we could play dressup when we went to her house to visit. She’d love to see us all dressed up in her old dresses, complete with shoes, hand bags, clip on earrings and even wigs….LOL! It was always fun going to grandmas house to play, and I’m glad that my sister is letting her daughter have the same kind of fun that we did when we were kids!
