We have recently had a couple of family members that have had major health scares, and we got the news last week that my boss’ father was given a maximum of 3 months to live and that he needed to “get his affairs in order”. These have gotten me to thinking about my own life and what would happen if something were to happen to either myself or my husband. My husband had a nice term life insurance policy through his former employer, but we haven’t taken the steps to replace that or get a policy on myself. It’s hard to think about things like this, but the reality of it is that if we don’t, we don’t be prepared in the case that something were to happen to one of us!
