We’re making progess

Little by little things are coming along here at the new house. This morning we get the last of the furniture put “in place” in the family room, it’s really starting to look good, now I just need to get my pictures and things put up on the walls. I also need to come up with a cover for the sofa that was left here, one that also covers the arms of it. I have a sheet right now that covers the back and the cushions very nicely, but that leaves the arms uncovered and that’s the part of the sofa that looks the worst.
Last night my husband and I decided to take a walk in the woods around the property just to see how big the property actually is. It was a beautiful walk and we are really happy with what we seen! First, the back of the property is bordered with a wide strip that was cleared of trees but is filled with tall grasses. That separates the property from the 60+ acres behind it that are owned by the nature conservatory. With them owning all of the surrounding land, it’s kind of a sure fire guarantee that the land around us will never be developed and no other homes will ever be built.
Our plans for this weekend are getting the yard cleaned up and mowed, it sat empty all summer and the yard wasn’t mowed a single time, so it’s a HUGE mess! I also need to finish up some painting in the kitchen, I haven’t painted or cleaned the drawers yet, so I have nowhere to put my silverware or cooking utensils.. so that’s a MUST DO this weekend! I also still have a ton of laundry to catch up on, I need to do one final hand scrub on the kitchen floor, I don’t hold out a hope of getting it completely clean, but I do want to know that it’s clean clean!
So, there you have it, the latest update as to what’s going on with the new house. I’m glad we’re making progress and everyone, dogs included, have adjusted well to living here! We finally got my oldest child’s bus stop switched so that it stops here in the morning and afternoon, no more driving back and forth to the other house for the bus. Not too bad, it only took two weeks….LOL! Little by little, things are coming together, YAY!
