Wouldn’t you consider this an emergency?

A brief note, then a few pictures.
Sunday morning I was in my office studying when I heard police and fire sirens. Now, since I live in the middle of 3 houses that have people who are either fire fighters or EMT’s, I don’t normally think too much of the sirens, I do try to see where they are heading though. The ones I heard on Sunday headed down the road that I can see from my windows here. The sirens didn’t stop close by so I didn’t think too much of it.
That was until Monday when I noticed these 2 blue 55 gallon barrels sitting along the road. When I got over to where I pick my daughter up from the bus at I was talking to the mom there and she said that she thought it was possibly a dead body because she thought she seen the coroner near these barrels and swore she seen blood. When I talked to someone who was on the fire department they said that the barrels were full of some type of acid and that the EPA was to have came on Monday to take the barrels away.
Today is Thursday and the barrels are still there. What bothers me about this is that we all have well water out here, so if there is acid in these barrels, is that going to go into our water table and drinking supply? The barrels are right on the road by a ditch, and there is saw dust and those absorb sock things around them, does that mean they are leaking? This scares the crap out of me! Wouldn’t something that could contaminate the water supply and harm people or pets be considered an emergency type situation? Why is is that FIVE days later these barrels are still there? Anyone could hit them with their car and knock them over, they are right at the edge of the road.
I know that the pictures are kind of big, and I apologize for that. I tried to make them smaller, but you just couldn’t see the details very well. If anyone knows how to put a bug up the EPA’s ass, PLEASE let me know. This is ridiculous!
